SOCIAL ANTHROPOLOGY
Thats how I describe my work. I am a 20 year old photographer based in Long Beach, California who spent the past quarter of my life with a camera in my hands documenting things around me.
I started as a street photographer. Taking my camera with me on walks and trips around the city to photograph the things around me. A lot of the thought process that goes Into my photography today comes from the time spent during this early period in my photography.
EARLY CAREER
I"m still relatively fresh in this industry, but here's how I got my start.
I entered my photojournalism career by printing fake press passes and deceiving school officials to sneak into a performance put on by the United States Marine Band at my high school. I wanted to see it and was willing to do what had to be done to get the shot.
Not long after that day, the pandemic arrived and I found myself photographing the change that was coming to my city. When the protests arrived, I found myself on the streets of L.A. photographing the movement.
SINCE THEN
I've been involved in freelance projects and have been working within my community to make photography and exploration into the arts accessible.
Just as ones style develops, so does their reason for the work they do. I hope that through my work I can encourage cross cultural conversations and deepen our understanding of perspectives held by others.
I hope to continue doing work that can allow us to reevaluate our preconceived notions of the world and continue opening up cross cultural bridges into worldviews separate of my own.
